Mananui Station is a 1,077ha breeding and semi-finishing block, located in the Ormondville district approximately 15 minutes from the Dannevirke township. The property was established in 1895 and has been held in the same family ownership since then, and this is the first time it has been brought to the market. There are multiple titles but two distinct management blocks, namely Mananui (722ha) and Awaroa (355ha) - a well-formed central laneway links these two blocks.
The land is a mix of a small area of flat, some easy undulating hills, through to steeper hill country and some steep sidelings. An area of 110ha of three-year-old pines is registered with the ETS. The property rises from around 285m up to approximately 430m above sea level. The annual rainfall is 1300mm/annum and is considered summer safe. Mananui Station can boast very regular fertiliser application over its 130-year history, the results of which can be clearly witnessed in the pasture quality and stock health.
On average, the property winters around 9 stock units per hectare, comprising of 250 Angus cows plus replacements and 4000 Romney ewes plus replacements. Excellent bloodlines and top management produce exceptional lambing and calving percentages, plus robust and high-performing stock.
Infrastructure includes three houses, two woolsheds with covered yards, multiple sets of sheep and cattle yards, an airstrip and fertiliser bin, various haybarns, a great standard of fencing and well-established tracks throughout.
