About the area
Tararua is renowned for its generally excellent summers and mild winters meaning the region is famous for being summer safe and with good fertile soils types the region producers strong grass growth from Spring through to Autumn. The pleasant and settled weather is also one of the prime attractions for potential buyers looking for a safer farming environment. The warmest months are December, January and February. Typical summer temperatures range from 20°C to 30°C (maximum daytime). In winter, high temperatures are between 10°C and 14°C.
